SEN Teaching Assistant Required

As well as developing and delivering personalised learning, you will work with colleagues to support students with their daily routines, transitions and positive behaviour management.

We are currently looking for an organised, hard working individual who is interested in working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in our Specialist School and College in Cranleigh. The school and College is a co-educational residential and day school catering for children between the ages of 5 - 19 (primary and secondary) with complex and severe learning difficulties. St Joseph's has excellent provision for students, within the above categories, who are on the Autistic Spectrum. There up to 8 students in each class in Key Stage 2, 3 and 4. In Key Stage 5 tutor groups are sometimes larger than 8; however these are further split into small groups for many teaching sessions.

Following a thorough induction and training programme, your duties would include:

• Providing day to day classroom support to the children and assisting with pupil behaviour.
• Establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.
• Encouraging pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
• Helping to plan lessons by preparing materials and resources

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
