SEND Teaching Assistant – Permanent Role

Location: Wolverhampton, WV3 0NR
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Monday to Friday)

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have the patience, resilience, and dedication to help students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential?

We are seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary school in Wolverhampton. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who have a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties, providing the support they need to succeed both academically and personally.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual student needs.
  • Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other additional learning needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation using consistent and supportive strategies.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and social development.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, or behavioural needs.
  • Is patient, compassionate, resilient, and proactive.
  • Has strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Is passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
