Are you looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant position in South East London?

Are you available for part time work in Southwark?

I have a secondary school for children with special needs in the Peckham area, who regularly need an enthusiastic and proactive teaching assistant to come in to the school and provide cover for absent colleagues. The school caters for a mixture of complex needs and mild to severe autism, with classes holding up to 10 students, a teacher and up to 3 other learning support assistants.

I am looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant who meets some or all of the following criteria:

  • Is able to support children with autism, including some with challenging behaviour
  • Can provide personal care where necessary, including toileting and changing
  • Has experience of supporting children with SEN either in primary or secondary
  • Can provide excellent references from previous employment
  • Has a DBS on the update service, or is willing to complete a new application asap
  • Is able to travel to this school in Peckham, for an 09:00am start when you are booked to work
  • Holds a level 3 qualification relating to working with children (desirable but not essential)
  • Is willing to assist with hydrotherapy in the swimming pool - you will be able to stand up at all times and full guidance will be given

Teaching Personnel has been operating in the UK for over 20 years and we are committed to improving the quality of our staff. We can offer training courses that are either free or at a reduced cost, and a dedicated consultant will liaise with you regularly to ensure you are happy in your position. We offer competitive pay rates and will pay a national insurance and pension contribution for you.
