SEN Teaching Assistant - Oldham - Immediate Start

We are currently interviewing for SEN Teaching Assistants to join the department to support the needs of the resent influx of new pupils for this academic year. We require one full time SEN Teaching Assistant and one part time, with flexible working hours available. We require all applicants to have previous experience working in a secondary school environment, or have experience in a similar capacity, supporting young people with Special Educational Needs.

Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant is a very rewarding role where every day will be different. Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and a group basis you will be required to work with a range of Special Educational Needs including; Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia or any other SEMH or behaviour difficulties. Due to this you will be required to cater for each pupils individual needs and work together with the SENCO and rest of the department to implement strategies on how to support the pupils and help them reach the curriculum.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working alongside the SEN department, supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs, such as; Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia or any other SEMH or behaviour difficulties.
  • Assisting pupils on a 1:1 and group basis, dependent on the needs of the school and helping them reach the curriculum
  • Conducting reports on progress and delivering back to the SEN Co-ordinator and pupils parents, discussing and implementing next steps and ways to develop
  • Supporting pupils with any additional needs they have and helping boost self esteem and confidence
  • All applicants must have previous experience supporting young people with a wide variety of SEN

The school is graded 'good' by Ofsted and require 2 additional SEN Teaching Assistants to join the department to support the influx of new year 7s for the academic year. Located a short distance from Oldham Athletic Football ground, the school has state of the art facilities and a strong support structure set in place for the incoming Teaching Assistants, with excellent provisions for teaching and learning throughout the school.

  • Full time and part time hours available working as an SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Working at an Ofsted graded 'good' school in Oldham with state of the art facilities
  • Earn up to £325 a week, dependent on experience and responsibilities
