SEN Teaching Assistant - Northumberland

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a passionate Classroom Assistant to work with children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. This is an incredibly rewarding role being offered by an outstanding school with both Primary and Secondary branches. The successful candidate must have relevant experience working with people with disabilities and be confident working with Moving and Handling, Personal Care and offering other support to the children. This role welcomes people from SEN and Support Work backgrounds, and training in relevant fields will be considered. You will be working with children and young people with a range of SEND such as:  

• Difficulties with reading, writing and comprehension
• Unable to understand and retain basic mathematical skills and concepts
• Limited vocabulary and communication skills
• Short attention span
• Under developed co-ordination skills
• Lack of logical reasoning
• Inability to transfer and apply skills to different situations
• Have difficulty remembering what has been taught

Teaching Personnel can offer Teaching Assistants competitive pay rates of GBP57-65 per day however long term rates can be negotiated on your behalf. The role will be held until the end of August.
