If this sounds like you then you’ve found your ideal role.
Responsibilities-
- Ensure pupils are appropriately cared for and supported throughout the entirety of their school day
- Support teaching staff at the beginning and end of each day with helping each child to/from their taxi
- Get involved and be proactive. Start to recognise where you can help out
- Comfortable with elements of personal care with pupils
- Build a strong rapport with students, staff and parents alike
- Provide emotional and behavioural support to pupils throughout the day
Requirements-
- A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude, with the ability to remain calm and maintain a good sense of humour in a dynamic learning environment.
- A genuine passion for supporting learners with a range of needs, including those who benefit from practical, hands‑on sessions such as workshop activities, music-based learning, and bike maintenance.
- A Child and Adult Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (support can be provided to complete this if needed).
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), or willingness to register before starting the role.
- A full UK driving licence and access to personal transport.
Our SEN school follows a trauma‑informed, therapeutic approach, creating a calm, consistent environment where pupils can build trust, independence, and confidence at their own pace. Alongside classroom teaching, the curriculum includes a strong emphasis on practical and creative learning, offering pupils access to specialist workshops and hands‑on vocational activities.
Learning extends beyond traditional lessons, with personalised timetables and experiences that help pupils develop life skills, communication, resilience, and readiness for their next steps.
