SEN Teaching Assistant
Manchester

Competitive Salary based on experience (GBP1200 - GBP1300 per month)

Teaching Personnel are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join our popular client school located in Manchester. The successful SEN TA will be responsible for supporting students with Special Educational Needs on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. This is a full time role commencing in January 2020 and running throughout the remainder of the academic year. The successful candidate will also be given the opportunity to earn a permanent contract following this placement. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving secondary school in Manchester and make a real impact on the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work in mainstream classes and in the schools SEN provision to support students on a one-to-one an in small groups. They will be responsible for ensuring that each student with Special Educational Needs realises their full academic potential and has the support needed to achieve this. The successful Teaching Assistant will establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a positive role model and responding appropriately to the individual needs of each student. They will work closely with the school SENCO reporting back in relation to progress, achievement, behaviour and attendance.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (ideally aged 11-16)
  • Be willing to participate in training and professional development as required
  • Be passionate about inclusion and providing the best outcomes for all students with SEN
  • Be available on a full time basis from January 2020

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will join a multi-cultural and multi-faith academy, committed to ensuring the best outcomes for all students. Our client school is located just a short drive from the city centre and can be easily accessed from the surrounding areas of Tameside and Stockport. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
