SEN Teaching Assistant

Join a popular secondary school in South Manchester seeking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant from Easter. The successful Teaching Assistant will join the schools Special Educational Needs and Inclusion team and will be supporting the academic and social needs of identified pupils through in-class support, small group intervention and one-to-one support.

This role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or an enthusiastic and inspiring graduate who enjoys working as part of a dedicated team and is looking to develop their skills in a welcoming school environment. Previous experience of working with young people with Special Educational Needs is desired.

Main responsibilities of the role are:

• To work with individual and groups of students under the direction of the SENCO
• To provide academic and pastoral support to students
• To deliver intervention to small groups of students with Special Educational Needs
• To establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model by presenting a positive personal imagine and responding appropriately to individual needs

The school is located in South Manchester, a short drive from exit 4 on the M56 and easily accessible via Metro links from the city centre and public bus routes. The school has been judged by Ofsted to be a ‘Good’ school with ‘Outstanding’ features for teaching and pastoral support.
