Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Yate
Salary: GBP57-65 per day
The Head Teacher and SENCo of a really lovely school in Yate is requiring an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with Special Educational Needs in Reception. This is a really enjoyable school to work in that prides itself on being forward-thinking and innovation. This school utilises a creative curriculum with focus on music and outdoor learning to support a child’s development.
The additional needs of the child include working at a lower level, speech, language and communication and emotional/social needs. The school therefore require someone with experience supporting children with similar needs or supporting within EYFS/KS1. The ideal person will be required to support the child predominantly within the classroom but may involve leading some additional activities on a 1:1 basis tailored to the child’s needs.
We are looking for someone who:
• has a good understanding of SEN within a school setting
• has patience and understanding
• has the ability to communicate with parents and the wider school community
• is able to use their initiative and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
• assisting with the setting up and monitoring of the pupil’s Educational Health Care Plan targets
• has energy and enthusiasm
• has a willingness to learn and take on new ideas
