SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for primary Teaching Assistants to work in Pupil Referral Units and Specilaist SEN Provisions attached to mainstream primary schools across the Gravesend and Dartford area. The schools we work with provide bespoke, child-centred, high quality education programmes, which aim to ensure that all the students individual educational needs are met. These roles would be to start when the schools reopen after the current pandemic, but some may start sooner depending on the position and the childs needs. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference to pupils lives and their experience of education, especially those who have become disengaged from education. The roles can either be part or full-time dependant on your preferences.

Responsibilities:
• To work either with small groups or 1:1 with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviour and who may be statemented and have Special Educational Needs.
• To facilitate a safe and positive learning environment and de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour.
• To mentor and engage with the student, delivering specifically designed educational packages.
• To work alongside the classroom teacher or home tutors.

Requirements - A successful candidate must:
• Have a minimum of 6 weeks relevant experience
• be patient, engaging, inspiring, creative, consistent, and calm when under pressure.
• We require someone who enjoys the immensely rewarding work or inspiring students who are emotionally and/or socially challenged and who has the ability to establish positive learning experiences through intuitive and creative learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
