Our partner secondary school situated in the south Manchester area of Wythenshawe is looking for a SEN specialist Teaching Assistant to join their support team in September at the start of the new academic year. The successfully appointed SEN Teaching Assistant should have experience of interacting and working with young people with a variety of special educational needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and general vulnerability.

There is a small cohort of female students who require additional support to build their confidence and require a gentle more careful approach. The school are therefore looking for a SEN specialist who can split their time between working with these girls on a 1:1 basis working with them to access their work easily and build confidence.

There will also by the chance to work within the SEN department with students in mainstream classes. There will be the opportunity to progress onto a school based contract for the successful SEN, initially starting on a supply basis with this secondary school.

Highlights of this SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Pay will range between £1300 - £1350 per month in the first instance being paid on a supply basis
  • Opportunity to progress onto a school based contract for the right SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Should have experience in supporting students with a variety of SEN
  • Work within a large SEN department overseen by a highly supportive SENCO and Assistant SENCO

This school prides itself on providing the best learning environment for all students ensuring an all inclusive learning environment. The school has a fantastic provision for students with SEN, having it's own on-site Autism area and Inclusion centre. The successful SEN TA will benefit from working within this area and work alongside experienced Teaching Assistants and Teachers on a daily basis.

This secondary school is located in the Wythenshawe area close to the airport making it very easy to get to using the M60 and M56 motorway networks. The Greater Manchester metrolink also services this school very well making the school easy to commute to for any SEN Teaching Assistants that may live a little further away. The school boasts fantastic facilities in general aswell as having a well resourced inclusion centre on site.
