We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant for a school that caters for pupils aged 11-19 with Complex Cognitive Difficulties. This school has a population of only a 100 pupils in order to provide the very service to its pupils, and their achievement can be seen in the fact that their first OFSTED report (2019) was graded as Outstanding in all areas.
The school has achieved this through a personalised curriculum for its pupils, which prepares them not only for further education but all aspects of adult life, including home management and their careers. This was possible through the schools eye for talent, and a result a successful Teaching Assistant would have the following:
• A warm and friendly personality
• Experience of working with children with SEN
• A patient and caring personality
• Experience of working with or being around SEN
• A dedication to helping young people grow and develop
Your role at the school as a Teaching Assistant would be to assist the class teacher and possibly support other TA’s in the room throughout the school day. Your main duties will include helping pupils with their work, assistance in group work activities, providing an alternative environment for the pupils to work to promote the pupils progress and help them reach their full potential.
The school is located in the Wythenshawe area of Manchester and is easily accessible by bus, tram and car.
In addition, you will need to complete all necessary vetting checks including proof of identity, a DBS on the Update Service and producing two recent references.
Working hours are 08:00-16:00 but vary given the level of responsibility you may have.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
