SEN Teaching Assistant

1:1 Teaching Assistant – Warrington
Start Date: After October Half Term
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (potential for permanent placement)
Salary: Pay-to-Scale, dependent on experience and qualifications

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a school in the Warrington area who are  seeking a caring and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This rewarding role involves providing tailored support to a child with special educational needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and make excellent progress within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualised 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, ensuring their learning, social, and emotional needs are met.
• Assist with implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and contribute to progress reviews.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to adapt learning materials and strategies to suit the pupil’s needs.
• Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour in line with school policies.
• Support inclusion by helping the pupil participate fully in classroom and wider school activities.
• Maintain accurate records of progress, behaviour, and wellbeing as required.

Educator Requirements:

• Holds a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience supporting pupils in a school setting).
• Has experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs, ideally within a primary school environment.
• Possesses an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply through Teaching Personnel).
• Demonstrates patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills when supporting children.
• Works effectively as part of a team and uses initiative to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
