Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in the Tonypandy area. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support, helping pupils develop academically, socially, emotionally, and personally. About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

• Work alongside teachers and support staff to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities.

• Provide one-to-one and small group support based on individual pupil needs.

• Encourage the development of communication, social, emotional, and independence skills.

• Support pupils with behavioural, sensory, and emotional needs where required.

• Help maintain a nurturing, structured, and positive learning environment.

• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.

• Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and participation throughout the school day.

• Assist pupils with developing confidence and independence.

• Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team to support pupil progress and wellbeing.

Previous experience within an SEN school, specialist provision, educational setting, care environment, or supporting individuals with additional needs is desirable. However, applicants with transferable skills and a passion for working with children are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Teaching Personnel provides guidance and support for obtaining the following:

• Education Workforce Council (EWC) Registration

• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service

• References covering two years of employment
