Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant Required at a ‘GOOD’ Primary School in Thornton, (FY5)

  • Full Time Teaching Assistant Required
  • Prior Experience working with children with challenging behaviour essential  
  • Team Teach Qualification beneficial

A ‘GOOD’ primary school in Thornton (FY5) are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant who has experience working with children with challenging behaviour.  The school prides itself on ‘maintaining a creative learning environment’ and requires a KS2 TA who would follow and adapt to the proactive and positive ethos of the school. The role is to work in the schools KS2 department with children who need 1:1 support to help manage and maintain their behaviour.  The successful candidate will be based in a Year 5 class but will be expected to work with children across the school where necessary. This school shows ‘GOOD’ levels progression and are looking for a dedicated TA who will make a real difference for the children in their care.  

This KS2 role will start after May half term (1st June 2026) and will run for the remainder of the academic year. The role is likely to continue for the full academic year 2026/2027. 

The school are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working in a KS2 environment
  • Can work effectively with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Has an understanding of the KS2 curriculum
  • Has experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
