We are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to support a school with pupils aged 2-11. The school is a large, popular and innovative provision catering for the individual needs of pupils’ and students from the ages of 2 -11 who present a diverse range of needs including severe learning difficulties and profound and complex physical/medical needs.
These pupils are housed in a purpose-built building that is designed to deliver the highest standard of education to these young people, including state of the art classrooms, outdoor equipment, and sensory rooms. The school has an excellent reputation in the area for it works with the young people who attend and praised for its highly welcoming staff and positive environment.
Your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant would be to support these young people throughout their school day. Due to current conditions you would be supporting a ‘bubble’ of students who you would spend the whole day with. Tasks involved in this bubble support. would be to help with lessons planned by the teacher, many of which are focussed on social development, character building and based in holistic and play Therapies.
You would be supported by not only the teacher but other support staff such as Teaching Assistants, therapists, and other specialist support.
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant would have:
- Experience of SEN in a professional or personal setting
- A proactive and engaging personality
- Patience and Positivity
The school is based in Wigan and is easy to get to via car, bus, and train.
The application process requires two recent and care/education-based references or evidence of other experience.
You additionally will either have a DBS on the Update Service or a willingness to get one.
