Supply Bank of Supporting Education Group, a partner of Teaching Personnel, is supporting a specialist SEN school in the Shrewsbury area with the recruitment of Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistants.

The school provides education and support for pupils and young people aged approximately 2 to 25 years, with a wide range of additional and complex special educational needs. The setting offers a highly supportive and specialist environment where staff work closely with pupils to promote their learning, communication, independence and personal development.

The Role

• Support pupils with a wide range of SEN and complex learning needs

• Assist teachers and specialist staff with learning and classroom activities

• Provide individual and small-group support where required

• Help pupils develop communication, social, emotional and independence skills

• Support pupils with their personal development and engagement in learning

• Encourage positive behaviour and participation throughout the school day

• Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and wider support staff

• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

Ideal Candidates Will Have

• A Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Education, or a relevant equivalent qualification

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN or complex needs is highly desirable

• A patient, caring and adaptable approach

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• The ability to work effectively as part of a specialist education team

• A genuine interest in supporting children and young people to reach their potential

Requirements

• Level 2 qualification is essential

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection

• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils

• Relevant experience in education, childcare, SEN or support settings preferred

• Reliability and flexibility to support regular morning bookings
