Job description

A leading and award-winning Special Educational Needs (SEN) school group is seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their growing team in Reading. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people with a range of complex needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans
  • Promoting a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Encouraging the social and emotional development of pupils

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in school or care settings)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
  • Right to work in the UK (this school group is unable to offer visa sponsorship)

Desirable but not essential:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent)
  • Team Teach or other de-escalation training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
