SEN Teaching Assistant Required (Full-Time) – Okehampton

Salary: £90 - £95 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
Preferred Candidate: Male (due to specific student needs)
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant for a partner SEN school in Okehampton. This full-time, temp-to-perm position offers a rewarding opportunity to positively impact students with special educational needs.
About the School:
Located in Okehampton, the school specializes in providing a supportive and inclusive environment for students with SEN. It offers individualized learning programs tailored to meet the needs of children with conditions such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. The school prides itself on fostering academic, social, and emotional growth, ensuring that every student receives the care and guidance they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 and group support to students with various SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
- Assist in creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Help students manage their behaviour, emotions, and social interactions.
- Work alongside teachers and the SENCO to cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Support classroom activities to ensure students are engaged and progressing in their learning.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with SEN students is preferred but not essential.
- Patience, flexibility, and understanding in handling challenging situations.
- A passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
- Male candidates are preferred due to specific student requirements.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
