SEN Teaching Assistant – Wimbledon & Surrounding Areas

Specialist & Mainstream SEN Settings | January Start
Long-Term, Short-Term & Temp-to-Perm Roles Available

Are you a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference for children with additional needs?

Teaching Personnel partners with supportive primary and secondary schools, as well as specialist SEN settings across Wimbledon and South West London, seeking SEN-experienced Teaching Assistants to support pupils in achieving both academic and personal growth.


The Role

  • Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3, or KS4 (depending on setting)

  • Working with children and young people with SEND, including ASC, SEMH, SLCN, ADHD, and complex needs

  • Providing 1:1 support or assisting in small group settings

  • Assisting with individualised learning plans (EHCPs) and interventions

  • Positions available across Wimbledon, Merton, Kingston, Sutton & surrounding areas

  • Full-time and part-time roles available

  • January start dates

  • Join schools with supportive leadership teams and multidisciplinary staff


Who We’re Looking For

  • Proven SEN experience is essential

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in SEN settings

  • Understanding of individualised learning plans (EHCPs)

  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting pupils

  • Effective behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
