A partnered secondary school located in the heart of Manchester city centre, is looking to gain an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who has experience or specialised within the sectors of ADHD and autism. This opportunity starts on the 30th of October and will end on the Christmas break.

This SEN Teaching Assistant vacancy acquires candidates who already have experience helping students in secondary schools with Special Educational Needs. However, applicants who have a drive and passion for support, care and a passion for development are encouraged to apply and come forward also.

Highlights of the SEN TA role:

  • Ability to gain experience working with SEN students in a fast-paced environment.
  • To earn £80-£90 per day.
  • Full time SEN Teaching Assistant role working 5-days per week with the hours of 8:30am-3:30pm.
  • Rewarding role seeing SEN students grow in confidence and ability in the KS3/KS4 curriculum.
  • Possible time extension in this role depending on a successful period.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support SEN students who are challenged with their subjects at a KS3/KS4 curriculum level.
  • Engage with SEN students in a 1-1 setting to increase their engagement and support their learning difficulties in each subject.
  • Be the support line for the general teachers within the SEN department and help identify certain students who are struggling with the curriculum.
  • Be independent, reliable, and dedicated in helping all SEN students in the lesson when needed.
  • Understanding and managing SEN students’ needs and abilities to help create and plan sessions for their development.
  • Have a sufficient knowledge base on certain educational departments for lessons you would be placed in, to support the teacher and students.

The secondary school offer great support and resources to engage SEN students with teachers and the lessons while also guiding you in the new role going forward.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
