SEN Teaching Assistant- Knutsford

Teaching Personnel are working closely with our partner secondary school located in Knutsford to source the support of SEN Teaching Assistants to join them from September 2018. These exciting SEN Teaching Assistant positions have arisen due to an increase in the number of pupils with SEN who will be joining them in the new academic year.

The school are specifically seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a full-time basis. These SEN Teaching Assistant positions will initially be on a supply basis so that suitability for the role can be ascertained. However, there is the possibility of fixed-term contracts being offered thereafter.

Specific job duties-

  • To provide SEN support for identified pupils across all year groups.
  • To work on a 1-to-1 basis with pupils in to provide general Teaching Assistant support in all lessons.
  • To work with small groups of pupils within the school's inclusion unit.
  • To act as a positive influence at all times and to deal with any disengaged behaviour according to the school's policy.

The school-

Our partner secondary school was recently praised by Ofsted for the provisions put in place to support pupils with special educational needs. Further, the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) is an experienced practitioner who is passionate about the development of staff within their department. Consequently, the incoming SEN Teaching Assistants will be given opportunities to training courses and progression routes within the role.

The school have a large Inclusion Resource Centre which facilitates the learning of pupils with SEN. The current team includes the SENCO, Intervention Manager and four full-time Teaching Assistants who all work cohesively to ensure all barriers to learning are overcome by dedicated comprehensive support.
