Teaching Assistants Wanted – Specialist School in Hambledon, Godalming

Our client, a highly regarded specialist school nestled in the beautiful countryside of Hambledon near Godalming, is looking for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join their team.

 

The Role:

You’ll be working alongside experienced teachers and therapists to support children and young people aged 7–19 with complex learning needs, including autism spectrum conditions, speech and language challenges, and associated social and emotional needs.

Whether you’re helping in the classroom, assisting with personalised learning activities, or supporting emotional regulation, you’ll play a vital role in each student’s journey.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support in classroom and therapeutic settings

  • Assist in implementing tailored education plans and communication strategies

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all learners

  • Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to promote positive outcomes

  • Encourage independence and confidence through patience, empathy, and structure

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, care, or voluntary roles)

  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient in the face of challenging behaviour

  • A genuine interest in SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)

  • Team player with strong communication skills

  • Willingness to learn and adapt with ongoing training and support

  • Full time availability and access to a car due to location
