Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently on the lookout for Learning Support Assistants to support students within a fantastic SEN school based in Great Yarmouth. The school is a provision for students that have a variety of needs, such as Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Autism, and ADHD.

This setting is best suited to individuals who are resilient and empathetic to the needs of students and are looking for a challenging but rewarding career.

Although classroom experience is desirable, we welcome applicants that have personal experiences with SEN, as well as individuals who have previous experience in the care /youth work sector.

About the role:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday (term time only)
  • Hourly rate: £13.07-£14.61
  • In house training provided

Typical duties include:

  • Working with students who need additional support either on 1:1 basis or in small groups.
  • Motivating and inspiring children to learn and participate in classroom activities.
  • Contribute to record-keeping by recording observations of pupils during the school day.
  • Support the teacher with general classroom and behaviour management.
  • Prepare lesson resources.
  • Support the class teacher to help ensure the day runs smoothly.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
