Salary: £13.75 an hour

Contract: Full Time

SEN Teaching Assistants – Opportunities via Teaching Personnel

A specialist Pupil Referral Unit is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Teaching Assistant to join their team.

 

The Role:

You will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers and other support staff in providing excellent care and support for pupils ranging in the ages 11-16 years old. Pupils in this school often have diagnoses of:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Attachment difficulties
  • Developmental trauma
  • Specific learning difficulties

This school offers a broad and balanced curriculum with:

  • Core subjects: English and Maths
  • Vocational options: Food and cooking skills, mechanics, outdoor learning, arts, sport and fitness
  • Personal development programs: PSHE, careers guidance, emotional resilience training
  • Therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches embedded in teaching
  • Safe, relationship-focused environment designed to build confidence and self-esteem

 

Who We Are Looking For:

  • SEMH experience
  • SEN(D) experience
  • A patient, resilient, innovative and caring individual with a compassionate approach to supporting children
  • Able to collaborate with teachers and other support staff
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies

 

Working Hours/Benefits:ouHo

  • Full Time
  • Monday-Friday = 08:45-15:30
  • Term Time Only
  • 12.07% Holiday Pay
  • Access to FREE CPD accredited training courses
