SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Flexible, part time SEN teaching assistant work available, to start as soon as possible.
Two schools based near Croydon and Mitcham are offering ‘bank staff’ work for SEN teaching assistants who are able to support children with autism.
Schools regularly need to cover staff absence including sickness, training courses, meetings, trips, medical appointments or other unplanned absences, by using ‘bank staff’. You will be called for work with as much advance notice as the schools can provide.
The two schools cater for children with autism. One school is primary and the other is secondary. The primary school is more moderate learning difficulties, where most students are verbal and can access the national curriculum. The primary school is more severe learning difficulties, where many students are non-verbal and engage more in sensory development.
- Daily pay rate GBP70 - GBP95 per day, dependent on which school you work in, and your experience/ability
- Working hours are 08:30am – 15:30pm and you will get a lunch break
- Work is available Monday-Friday, term time only, and you can choose how many days per week you would like to be called for work
- Experience of SEN, in whatever form whether primary or secondary or school based or non school based, is essential
- Training in safeguarding, child protection, autism awareness, PECs, Makaton, personal care, multi-sensory impairment, first aid or any other school related CPD is desirable
- Both schools are well served by public transport including bus routes and the over ground rail network
If you are going to be available for this kind of work and would like to register with the agency, please contact Jack at Teaching Personnel by sending your CV today.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
