Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Colne
Contract Type: Full-time

Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour

Start Date: September/October (or as soon as possible)

Key Responsibilities:

-          Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.

-          Assist teachers in planning and delivering inclusive lessons tailored to individual learning styles.

-          Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.

-          Foster independence and confidence in students by encouraging their participation in classroom activities.

-          Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting effectively to teachers and the SENCO.

-          Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

About You:

-          Experience working with children, ideally those with SEN (e.g, autism, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, SEMH).

-          Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for supporting children’s development.

-          Strong communication and teamwork skills.

-          Resilient, flexible, and able to adapt to the needs of individual learners.

-          Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential—training will be provided for the right candidate.

-          Relevant experience working with SEN children, ideally in a classroom setting or other relevant setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
