SEN Teaching Assistant – Temp to Perm Opportunity

A specialist SEN school in the Chorley area is looking to welcome a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. Initially offered on a temporary basis, this role provides the opportunity to secure a permanent position once you have built experience and demonstrated your commitment.

About the Role:

  • Full-time, term-time only

  • Supporting students with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication needs, and complex learning difficulties

  • Working alongside teachers and support staff to deliver personalised learning and encourage positive engagement

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support

  • Contributing to students’ social, emotional, and educational development

Ideal Candidate:

  • Calm, resilient, and compassionate

  • Keen to learn and develop within an SEN setting

  • Able to build trusting relationships with students and staff

  • Open to training, feedback, and hands-on learning

  • No previous school experience is required—just the right attitude and willingness to grow

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
