You will help create a safe and engaging environment, supporting pupils’ academic progress, emotional regulation, and independence.
A key part of the role is understanding that behaviour is a form of communication, using positive and trauma-informed approaches to support students effectively.

- Use tools such as visual timetables, PECS, and sensory strategies

- Build positive, trusting relationships with students

- Promote a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
Essential:
- Experience working with young people (school, care, youth work, coaching, etc.)
- Confident, proactive, and able to take initiative
- Patient, adaptable, and emotionally resilient
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Willingness to support personal care needs
- Full-time availability and commitment to a long-term role
Desirable:
- Experience supporting individuals with SEN (Autism, PMLD, behavioural needs)
- Knowledge of positive behaviour support or trauma-informed practice
- Team Teach training (or willingness to undertake training)
What Teaching Personnel Offers
- Long-term, full-time positions in supportive schools
- Competitive weekly pay
- Ongoing training and development (including Team Teach)
- Dedicated support from an SEN specialist consultant
- Clear progression opportunities within education and care sectors
