Educational Support Worker – SEN Primary School | Oldham | Full-Time | September & ASAP Starts Available

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference every day? Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive SEN primary school in the Oldham area who are seeking a dedicated Educational Support Worker to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is caring, patient, and motivated to support children with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs, and social, emotional and behavioural needs. Whether you already have school-based experience or come from a transferable background such as care, youth work, support work, coaching or childcare, this school offers an excellent environment to develop your skills within SEN education.

The Role
As an Educational Support Worker, you will play an important role in supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom. You may work on a 1:1 basis or with small groups, helping pupils engage with learning, regulate emotions, develop communication skills and build confidence socially and academically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with a range of SEN and additional needs
  • Provide 1:1 and small group classroom support
  • Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Support communication through visual aids, structured routines and sensory approaches
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
  • Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
  • Support pupils with personal care where required

  • Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals (school-based or transferable)
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and develop within SEN education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
