About the Role
Teaching Personnel are currently supporting a welcoming and well-established specialist education setting in Bury to recruit a nurturing and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning and reach their full potential in a positive and inclusive environment. You will work closely with teaching and senior staff, contributing to a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
The role will involve supporting both individual pupils and small groups, within the classroom and in alternative learning environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted and engaging learning activities
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Implement behaviour management strategies consistently
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-structured classroom environment
- Encourage independence, confidence, and active participation in learning
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
About You
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, care, or similar setting)
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s development and wellbeing
- Ability to build positive, professional relationships with pupils and staff
- Adaptable and proactive in a dynamic learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
