⭐ SEN School Support Staff – Trafford

Location: Trafford

Are you someone who thrives on helping young people overcome barriers to learning? Teaching Personnel are working closely with a number of SEN schools across Trafford, supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs), complex learning difficulties, communication needs, and behaviour challenges.

These schools provide a nurturing and structured environment where every pupil is given the support they need to succeed — and that’s where you come in.


Opportunities Available

We’re currently looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join schools in roles such as:

  • Teaching Assistants
  • Cover Supervisors
  • Behaviour Support / Intervention Staff

What You’ll Be Doing

Each role plays a key part in supporting both learning and wellbeing. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils either 1:1 or in small classroom groups
  • Helping students stay focused, engaged, and motivated
  • Delivering pre-set work and maintaining classroom structure (for Cover roles)
  • Providing consistent behaviour support and managing challenging situations
  • Encouraging emotional regulation, communication, and independence
  • Assisting teachers with adapting lessons to suit individual learning styles
  • Building trust and rapport with pupils who may struggle in traditional settings
  • Promoting a calm, safe and inclusive environment for all learners

✔️ What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who are passionate, confident, and ready to make a difference.

You will need to have:

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, care, coaching, youth work, etc.)
  • A calm, resilient, and patient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence in managing behaviour positively
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience within SEN or specialist settings
  • Understanding of autism, SEMH, or behaviour strategies
  • Any relevant training such as Team Teach
