SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – Year 4)

Full-Time | September Start

We are seeking a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team from September on a full-time basis.

This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with additional learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil throughout the school day.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning strategies.
  • Support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Encourage independence while providing appropriate guidance and reassurance.
  • Monitor the pupil's progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or additional learning needs.
  • Experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis, ideally within a primary school setting.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, or other learning difficulties.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience).

Salary and Hours

  • £14.25 per hour
  • 6.5 hours per day
  • Full-time, term-time only
  • September start

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
