One child. One opportunity. A lifelong impact.

Some children need a little extra support to unlock their potential. That's where you come in.

Teaching Personnel is looking for an experienced, caring and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join one of our welcoming mainstream primary schools in Bournemouth this September.

This isn't just another classroom role—it's an opportunity to become a trusted mentor, role model and advocate for a child who needs consistency, encouragement and someone who truly believes in them.

If you're passionate about inclusive education and thrive on seeing children achieve milestones they never thought possible, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Why You'll Love This Role

Every day brings something different. You'll work closely with one pupil, building a strong, trusting relationship that enables them to feel safe, confident and ready to learn.

From celebrating the smallest victories to helping overcome daily challenges, you'll play a vital role in shaping a child's school experience and future success.

You'll also become part of a supportive and collaborative school community where your contribution is genuinely valued.

✨ Your Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to the individual needs of your pupil.
  • Build a positive, consistent relationship that encourages confidence and independence.
  • Support learning both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Adapt activities to suit different learning styles and abilities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Work alongside the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team to deliver personalised support.
  • Celebrate progress—big and small—and help your pupil achieve their goals.

We're Looking For Someone Who...

✔ Has experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a school setting.

✔ Understands that building relationships is the foundation of successful SEN support.

✔ Is patient, empathetic and resilient.

✔ Can remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations.

✔ Is a confident communicator who enjoys working as part of a team.

✔ Wants to make a meaningful difference every single day.
