SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Location: Bournemouth
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full Time | Long-Term (with potential to become permanent)

Are you someone who genuinely loves helping children thrive? One of our welcoming schools in Bournemouth is looking for a passionate, committed and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026.

The school has a warm, supportive atmosphere and prides itself on giving every child the chance to succeed. They’re looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and confident working with children who have additional needs. This role would suit someone who really wants to make a difference day-to-day and is keen to become part of a close-knit staff team.

What the role involves:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, both 1:1 and in small groups

  • Helping children access learning and build confidence in and out of the classroom

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual support plans

  • Assisting with behaviour support where needed

  • Encouraging independence, emotional regulation and positive learning habits

  • Being a consistent, reliable member of staff that pupils can trust

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone who is genuinely passionate about SEN and supporting children

  • A calm, caring and resilient approach

  • Experience working with SEN pupils (school-based or similar setting)

  • A team player who’s happy to get stuck in and build strong relationships

  • Full-time availability from January 2026

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
