Job description

Teaching Assistant – SEN Provision

A well-established mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), offering 1:1 support and small group instruction to help each child reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to students with SEN in both 1:1 and small group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individual learning plans.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons that meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and document student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is preferred.
  • A strong understanding of various SEN needs and strategies to support them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to working with students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or support work are advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
