Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a number of Secondary  schools in the South Birmingham area who are looking for Teaching Assistants to join their team, and support students with additonal needs from varying backgrounds.

Ideally, the schools are looking for Teaching Assistants with sprcific skillsets such as Speech and Language.

The Role As a Speech, Language, and Communication Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in promoting effective communication skills among students.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the school's Speech and Language Therapist in providing one-on-one and small group support sessions

.• Implementing personalized speech and language intervention plans to help students overcome communication challenges.

• Supporting the development of communication skills through engaging activities and exercises.

Requirements

• A genuine passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, teachers, and parents.

• Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to address the diverse needs of students.

• The ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced educational environment.

• Relevant qualifications or experience in speech therapy, speech and language support, or a related field are desirable, but not essential for the successful candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
