Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Altrincham that is seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 2 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) from November 2026.

The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with autism throughout the school day.
- Support the pupil in accessing learning activities and engaging positively within the classroom environment.
- Implement strategies that promote communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to deliver tailored support.
- Adapt learning resources and activities to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours.
- Monitor progress and contribute to reviews, assessments, and support plans.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism (desirable).
- Has previous experience supporting primary-aged pupils in a school or similar setting.
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
- Understands the importance of consistency and building positive relationships.
- Possesses strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Is proactive, resilient, and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
