Location: Preston
Start Date: Monday 2nd November
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay Rate: £14.25 - £14.95 per hour
Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant Required - Preston
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Preston. This rewarding role is due to start on Monday 2nd November and offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional learning and developmental needs.
We are seeking caring, resilient, and proactive individuals who have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Applicants with transferable experience from support work, care, residential care, healthcare, or similar settings supporting children or adults with additional needs are also encouraged to apply.
The Role
- Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small group interventions.
- Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement support strategies and learning plans.
- Promote independence, confidence, and engagement within the classroom.
- Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children with additional needs is essential, either within a school or through a relevant support role.
- Candidates with transferable experience from care, support work, residential settings, healthcare, or community support roles will be considered.
- A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.
- A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
