As an SEN Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will help create an inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
SEN Support Assistant
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs.
- Supporting pupils' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and intervention programmes.
- Adapting learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging independence.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress and providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
You will need:
- Have experience working with children with SEND in a school, childcare, or similar setting.
- Possess a calm, nurturing, and patient approach.
- Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Hold a relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
