SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester 
Contract: Full time, Monday to Friday, long-term

We are currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Bolton, starting after the Easter break. This is a long-term opportunity within a structured and supportive setting, working with pupils who require additional support due to SEMH needs, Autism and associated behavioural challenges.

This role is particularly suited to someone who is confident, patient and able to build strong relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning or disengagement from education.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally throughout the school day. You will be working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to ensure pupils are able to access learning in a safe and structured environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
  • Supporting behaviour management and implementing consistent strategies
  • Assisting with lesson delivery and adapting activities where required
  • Encouraging engagement, participation and independence
  • Supporting pupils during transitions, break times and structured interventions
  • Building positive relationships with pupils to support their development

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have experience working with SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs
  • Be calm, resilient and consistent in your approach
  • Be confident managing behaviour and setting clear boundaries
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Be committed to working full time, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
