Teaching Personnel are seeking motivated and passionate SEMH Intervention Assistants to support young people across Stockport, Tameside and East Manchester in a variety of specialist schools and provisions.

What Your Role Will Look Like

You’ll play a vital part in helping young people overcome barriers and re-engage with learning through:

✅ Classroom-based support as an SEMH Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant
✅ Supporting students with complex needs, mental health challenges & behavioural difficulties
✅ Flexible placements — day-to-day, short-term and long-term
✅ Experience across multiple schools, APs and specialist SEMH provisions
✅ Opportunities to grow your confidence, skillset and SEN experience

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Experience working with young people (schools, youth work, residential, care etc.)
  • Monday–Friday availability (08:30–15:30)
  • Confidence, or willingness, to support behavioural needs
  • A positive, patient and proactive approach
  • A passion for supporting emotional, social and academic development
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
