Teaching Personnel are excited to be seeking a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant on the outskirts of Cambridge. With a strong interest and some knowledge of SEMH, the successful applicant will be a reliable and motivated individual, who is ready to start work as soon as possible.
The Role
- You will be working with pupils between the ages of 11-16 years, ensuring they stay engaged in lessons as well as encouraging them to take part in class activities.
- A rewarding position, where no two days will be the same. One day you may work with a pupil, who requires 1:1 support, the next you may be working as part of a larger class with multiple SEN pupils.
Some of the duties, for this position, will include:
- Promoting and assisting with the learning and development of the pupil(s) you are assigned to
- Encouraging pupils' confidence and independence
- Managing behaviour
- Preparing learning resources, as directed by the Teacher
As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant you must be available to work from 8.30am until 3.30pm for a minimum of one day per week. This position, has the possibility of becoming permanent.
