SEN Teaching Assistant - Bradford

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of complex physical and Special Education Needs at a special school in Bradford. The school caters to students aged 11-16 years and each child has an EHCP or a statement of Special Needs.

You will assist other staff in creating and implementing risk assessment and you will identify and address the needs of pupils that require additional support by providing 1:1 or small group support. We are looking for someone who is comfortable de-escalating behaviour and with excellent communication skills as some of the pupils may be non-verbal or have speech and language difficulties. A candidate with experience working with children with Autism, experience working with children with diverse special needs and/or experience in working in nurture group settings is desirable, but not essential.

We are looking for a candidate who is empathetic and resilient, dedicated to providing tailored support and having a positive impact on a child's engagement and progression. Previous experience of working in a education setting and/or with vulnerable people is essential.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
