Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Liverpool (Secondary School)
Contract Type: Temporary / Permanent (via Teaching Personnel)
Start Date: ASAP/September
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and school pay scale


About the Role:
Teaching Personnel are looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs in a secondary school in Liverpool. This is a rewarding role that involves working closely with teachers and students to help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support SEN students in the classroom to access the curriculum effectively

  • Assist with learning activities tailored to individual student needs

  • Help with managing behavior and supporting positive social interaction

  • Prepare resources and assist with administrative tasks related to SEN provision

  • Work alongside teachers and specialists to implement individual education plans (IEPs)

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support as required


Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting SEN students preferred but not essential

  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills

  • Ability to work well in a team and follow guidance from teaching staff

  • A proactive approach to supporting students’ learning and well-being

  • Basic understanding of SEN needs and strategies is a plus

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
