1️⃣ SEN Teacher – Leeds (LS Postcodes)

Daily Rate: £160–£210/day | Full-Time | Long-Term & Temp-to-Perm

Are you a passionate and experienced teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are seeking a committed SEN Teacher to work full-time in specialist schools and inclusive learning centres across Leeds. This role is ideal for someone confident working with pupils with autism, SEMH, PMLD, and complex needs, and who can create a positive, engaging classroom environment.

Your Role:

  • Deliver tailored lessons for pupils with a range of needs and abilities.

  • Lead a team of SEN TAs/HLTAs to ensure pupils receive consistent support.

  • Adapt lessons to meet EHCP targets and individual learning plans.

  • Manage behaviour positively, using Team Teach or other de-escalation techniques.

  • Work closely with therapists, SENCOs, and parents/carers to promote pupil progress.

  • Provide pastoral support and help pupils build confidence and independence.

Requirements:

  • QTS/QTLS required.

  • SEN teaching experience strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of autism, SEMH, and/or PMLD support strategies.

  • Comfortable with personal care and moving & handling.

  • Enhanced DBS (child workforce – child & adult DBS welcome).

  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
