PMLD Teacher required!

Immediate start!

 

Are you a Fully Qualified or Unqualified Teacher with PMLD experience? 

We are getting more and more referrals coming through for complex SLD and PMLD students, so require teachers with specialist skills and experience in this area to improve their academic and social abilities.

The types of roles that we have recently been working on include:

  • Tutoring PMLD pupils on a 1:1 basis, helping to develop academic, social and communication skills
  • Teaching complex needs students through a range of specialist communication aids such as Makaton, PECS, BSL or electronic communication aids
  • Play based work to support students who may be working on EYFS curriculum or P Levels
  • Extra-curricular support for young people without a school place; this may involve sensory support in the community such as field trips to the park, shop or for a local walk to help develop road safety awareness
  • PSHE and pastoral roles for students with complex needs

We are looking urgently for candidates with any of the following:

  • Experience working in SEN Schools, with a particular focus on PMLD, SLD or severe ASC
  • Experience and/or training in Makaton and PECS
  • Team Teach training or similar (e.g. MAPA, NAPPI, PI Training)
  • Any experience or confidence in undertaking personal care
  • EYFS experience including play or therapy based education
  • SENCO qualifications and experience
  • Experience working as Advisory Teachers or similar roles

The roles that we have are flexible and can be either full time pr part time, so we will welcome applications from candidates interested in both. We will also welcome applications from NQT’s with the relevant experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
