SEN Teacher – Maternity Cover
Location: Leeds
Start Date: Mid-May
Pay: £170 – £220 per day (dependent on experience)
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting on a maternity cover basis starting mid-May. This is a full-time role, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact supporting pupils with complex and multiple learning needs.
The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment, working with students who require highly personalised approaches to learning, including those with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism, and associated needs.
The Role:
- Plan and deliver tailored, engaging lessons to meet individual learning needs
- Support pupils with complex and multiple learning difficulties
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and senior leadership
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
- Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting approaches where needed
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with students with complex and multiple learning needs
- Strong understanding of SEN, including PMLD, ASC, and communication needs
- Patient, adaptable, and resilient approach
- Confident managing behaviours and supporting emotional regulation

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
