Job description

Class Teacher – Specialist All-Through School 

Full-Time | Permanent | Farnborough, Hampshire

A vibrant and inclusive all-through specialist school in Farnborough is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join its team. With a primary focus, this role involves working with children who have a range of special educational needs (SEN), including complex learning difficulties, across the early years and primary phases.

The school supports approximately 150 pupils aged 4 to 19, across three well-resourced sites. Each site is tailored to meet the diverse needs of its students, fostering a nurturing, supportive and inclusive learning environment. Pupils benefit from highly individualised learning programmes and a multidisciplinary approach that supports their academic, social, emotional and physical development.

The Role:
The successful candidate will teach a small class of primary-aged pupils with varying needs. Planning and delivering creative, engaging and differentiated lessons that are accessible and meaningful for all learners is essential. The post holder will work closely with a skilled team of teaching assistants and other professionals, ensuring a holistic and person-centred approach to learning and development.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience or a strong interest in working with children with SEN, particularly those with complex needs

  • The ability to adapt teaching styles to meet individual needs and EHCP targets

  • A nurturing, resilient and flexible approach

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
