Job description

Make a Difference as an SEN Teacher in Nottinghamshire

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting passionate and dedicated SEN Teachers to support students with special educational needs across Nottinghamshire. This is a rewarding opportunity to help young people overcome challenges and reach their full potential in a supportive, inclusive environment.

About the Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in planning and delivering personalised learning to students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You will work closely with support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure each student receives the individualised support they need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and deliver differentiated lesson plans tailored to each student’s needs

  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and well-being

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals

  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of student development

  • Use a range of teaching strategies to engage and motivate learners

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working with students with SEN, either in mainstream or specialist settings

  • Strong classroom management skills and a nurturing, patient approach

  • Knowledge of EHCPs and experience in delivering personalised learning plans

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
